From man-cave to family retreat: Staging a vacant log cabin

I have been working on this project for over a month and spent the past two days installing a staging in a unique, contemporary log cabin. I have advised the homeowners on updates and renovations as they prepared to put their home on the market. They chose to remodel the kitchen and 2 full bathrooms.

Even with the remodeling, the home primarily appealed to men. It still has a rough and rustic charm that leans more toward man cave or hunting cabin. This is where the staging became very important. It was critical that I create an environment that will appeal to men and women. I had to be careful not to make it too pretty and feminine or it would feel out-of-place in this home. The goal was to soften some of the roughness and add just the right amount of feminine to balance the very strong masculinity of the home and its setting.

The homeowners are very happy with the results and the house goes on the market this weekend!
