Exciting news about the 2011 Historic Ellicott City Decorator Show house!

I received the official news last week. I will be participating in the 2011 Historic Ellicott City Decortaor Show House! This is my first time doing a space in a show house so I chose a small but important space…the powder room in the entry foyer.

It may not sound like a glamorous space full of creative opportunities, but it is! This house is magnificent. It is the result of a long renovation undertaken by the homeowners that involved remodeling the existing 1800’s house and adding space to accommodate the spaces needed for today’s modern family. The result is a gracious, formal, sprawling country home in Fulton, MD.

Unlike most show houses, this one will be occupied by the owners once the house closes to the public. This means that if I make choices that appeal to the owners, they may decide to keep my room (or parts of it).

This is an exciting space to work in because the ceilings are very high, the moldings are very rich and the foyer that it adjoins is large and elegant.
